incoherence.net?
Hello, and uh, welcome. So this is my site; I've had it for around two years now (at the time of this writing). I decided to start a blog/journal after I got out of college as a way to chronicle my ideas and thoughts, as well as make myself continue writing. To be honest, it was the first domain name that I liked while searching. It describes how I (sometimes) feel about my thoughts and serves as an excuse for those days when I cannot write anything meaningful.
I couldn't help but notice that there's a "v4" in the URL.
Yea, this is the 4th iteration of my journal, the 4th time I've gotten sick of the look-and-feel of the previous site and decided to start over from scratch. It's come a long way since the first post, but here's what the page used to look like, in chronological order of creation:
They're still available on this server, an easy way make use of some of my otherwise wasted webspace.
What's up with the barebones blogging engine? Where's the trackbacks and RSS comments feed and Flickr integration? Do you even know how to use Wordpress/Blogger/Movable Type properly?
I guess I don't, since I built this from scratch with bits of PHP, HTML, CSS and AJAX. I'm only one developer working on this in my spare time, though, so don't expect too much; I'd like to think of it as a way to force myself to learn new web technologies and keep myself updated on the latest developments.
Oh, and the theme needs some work.
That's not a question.
Who did you try to plagarize it from?
Actually, I did spend a fair amount of time coming up with it, doing the whole multiple design iteration process thing that's supposed to bring quality to the end result. Look at my past designs; obviously it worked to a degree...alright, so I suck at making attractive webpages, but I'm still proud to call it my own.
Suppose one of our readers wanted to comment on the general blandness of the site or discuss the limitations of your blogging engine. How might they be able to convey these thoughts to the appropriate audience?
allen [at] incoherence [dot] net is one way to do that.
I'm just giving our readers a chance to voice their mocking commentary.
