Southern California
Spring Break 2007 (Last updated: 5/7/2007 at 10:27 PM)
I've never really understood the NorCal/SoCal rivalry. Having only been to L.A. a few times (and usually with purposes other than to explore), Sui and I took a little time to see the things we really should have seen given our decade-long tenure here, only to find that the polar ends of the compass reflect the same warm Californian luster. Oh, and here are some pics.
Factset Miscellani
2006 (Last updated: 6/27/2007 at 9:16 PM)
Miscellaneous photos related to Factset and the people who work there. We have a lot of fun - activities after work and sometimes during work are fair game for this album, as long as I can remember to bring along the camera anyway.
Asian Midwest Whirlwind Tour
Summer 2006 (Last updated: 9/2/2006 at 3:25 PM)
The American midwest is really one big empty plain populated randomly by pieces of landmark, or perhaps not so randomly; I have a suspicion that oil companies conspired to place enough interesting places as far away from each other as possible to maximize fuel and restroom stops. Anyway, it makes for a long and somewhat interesting road trip, so if you're not inclined to sit 8 hours in a car for 5 days to visit these places, you can at least look at these photos for inspiration.
Final Fantasy Concert
March 7th, 2005 (Last updated: 8/31/2006 at 10:43 PM)
San Francisco saw its first and possibly only Final Fantasy concert in March 2005; a tribute to a video game series beloved by many geeks and nerds alike, it had a classical overtone but was ultimately a fanboy lovefest. Apologies for the blurry pics, my camera didn't do dark shots very well.
Winchester Mansion
March 7th, 2005 (Last updated: 9/1/2006 at 12:02 AM)
The famous Winchester mansion in San Jose exists to show how rich and crazy coexist inside a little lady's mortal body. The story is that her husband invented the Winchester rifle, they became filthy rich, husband dies from disease so wife goes crazy and moves out west to build a huge mansion to appease the spirits. As far as whacky architecture goes, the house is fairly wacky but doesn't quite live up to the hype; you'll sleep better after realizing you didn't spend $20 to see the stuff in this album.
